LabCorp Added to S&P 500 Index

BURLINGTON, N.C., Nov. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Laboratory Corporation of America(R) Holdings (LabCorp(R)) (NYSE: LH) today announced that Standard & Poor's (S&P) added the company to the S&P 500 Index as of the close of trading on October 29, 2004.

The S&P 500 Index consists of 500 stocks chosen for market size, liquidity, and industry group representation. The "500" is one of the most widely used benchmarks of U.S. equity performance and is held broadly by U.S. and international index funds.
